This semester, I was fortunate enough to study abroad at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain, where I was able to take classes in the Facultad de Filología in my areas of research interest. This coming June I will live in Seville, Spain, where I will conduct further independent research at the Archivo General de las Indias, focusing on the role of the environment in Latin American texts during the movement for independence from Spain.

At IU, I have been able to utilize my skills as a writing tutor at Writing Tutorial Services, where I tutor fellow undergraduates in academic writing in both English and Spanish.

After graduation, I hope to pursue further education in Hispanic literature, especially in the fields of Latin American literature and ecocriticism.
